Zero Layers...

….Almost.

If you are going to make a card out of just one layer of card stock and you really want to use white, let me recommend our Naturals card stock.  It is a bit thicker than Whisper White or Very Vanilla.  I think you'll like it.

To give your card an edge...color the edge! I ran the edges of the above sample card along the ink pad to get the definition.  The stamp set I used is called Betsy's Blossoms.

This card does have one layer, the small flower near the top left is cut out and adhered with Stampin' Dimensionals.

Sunday School

Sunday School
to inspire your Spirit

As a Christian, I choose not to work on Sunday.  Although my blog is scheduled and I am not actually creating this post today; I still have a strong belief that we all need to take a break for the Sabbath Day.  Each week my Sunday post will change from inspiring your creativity, to inspiring your spirit.  I hope you enjoy the messages presented here each week.

My Husbands Demo & More Mock Convention

Michael's Debut

I have the greatest husband in the world!  I told him that at 'real' SU events the men on the corporate executive staff always demonstrate and wondered if he'd consider it...he said yes!

Watercolor Wonder Crayons by Michael

Here's what he showed them

this was made by Michael when he was doodling with the crayons on our watercolor paper that I had used to test colors on....it did NOT look anything like this when he started!

Just some fun photos of a few of the girls

Convention . . . sorta

Last Saturday

My downline came over last Saturday for our regular group gathering.  This time, however, I planned a 'mock' convention.  Turned out that Stampin' Up! had, for the very first time, a live feed from the actual convention starting the hour before our event!  A few of my girls came over early to watch it with me before our gathering began.

Tammy, Lisa, & Tina watching the excitement

Here's The video of the Live Feed:

Here are a few more photos from the

MemoryINKers Mock Convention

These are the Make & Takes I had
for them to complete
Card Sample

A bag to fill with "Instant Party" items for their Hostesses

And a Gift Card & Envelope (3")

Below are some MemoryINKer All-Stars!

Najiyyah Willams & Pam Holloway
(me in center)
both recently earned Senior Associate Promotions.

Sue Pavlak (& me).
Sue earned several MemoryINKers Awards:
#2 in Sales
#1 in Recruiting
AND she earned the Stampin' Up! Get-a-way Vacation!
Way to go Sue!!!

These are the pins I made for my team.
At convention Stampin' Up! always  gives a pin, so I made these using the Cannery Set & matching Framelits.  I used Shrink Plastic & Pin Backs from a local hobby store.

Come back tomorrow to see more photos, even of my husband, Michael, doing a demonstration on the Watercolor Wonder Crayons.

Tour The Stamp Sell-er

Here's Where I work!

I am happy to announce I finally made a video showing my stamping class room!!  I can't say it's a high quality video, in fact it's far from it.  However, it was fun to do and I hope you enjoying seeing my space.

I'd love to have you attend one of my classes soon.  You can even invite your friends to my home to hold your Stampin' Up! Workshop HERE!  All you'll bring is the friends and the snacks!   Let's pick a date soon!

Holiday Trimming

Christmas In July

Everyone LOVES the Holiday Season.  With the massive heat waves that have plagued the country this summer I thought it was a good time 'cool' things off.

I was inspired by the cover the new Holiday Catalog that you will be able to see on August 1st.   Although the cover used some different dies that are not yet available, the idea works well with many others.
This One Is My Favorite!
I think this one would work well as a card front, a gift tag, or the gift itself. It uses the Big Shot, Floral Frames Framelits, Designer Rozetter Bigz XL, Bakers Twine, Daydream Medallions stamp set, White Embossing Powder, and Be Of Good Cheer DSP.

Here's another two that I made using the Apothecary Accents Framelits.
Front & Top Views
This first one is not a favorite, but I wanted you to see the idea.

 Front View
I do like this one!

Watercolor

Just Believe

Want a quick gift idea for creating that watercolor look without all the work?  It's simple!   Here's how it's done:

1) Color the stamp using Stampin' Write Markers
2) Mist the now inked stamp with water (spray bottle)
3) Stamp onto watercolor paper

Yep!  Just three EZ steps!  For the rest of the card I used Not Quite Navy card stock for the base and used the Square Lattice Textured Embossing Folder on the front.  I stamped the sentiment in Not Quite Navy ink and tore the watercolor paper at an angle.  Then I matted that with Bashful Blue card stock and tore it to match.  I used Certainly Celery Taffeta Ribbon to tie around both and attached it to the card front.  Inside the card I did put a 4" x 5.25" piece of Very Vanilla card stock for stampin' a sentiment and/or leaving a personal note.  (Note: I used Old Olive, Certainly Celery, and Not Quite Navy Stampin' Write Markers to color the stamp)

Video Oops! - Repost

Adding color to Embossing Folders

In the words of Brittney Spears "Oops!  I did it again!"  Somehow another of my videos was cut off short.  I think I fixed the problem ...so...here it is again.

My friend, Tina Wink, gave me this adorable card and I had to ask for her permission to post it for all of you.

It's a simple card, but the extra color & bling on the shoe make it special.  It's proof that you don't need to do a lot of work to make a good card! Made with the new Fabulous You stamp set (3 stamps included).  Items numbers:  (w) #126520 $14.95  (c) #126522 $11.95  See it on page 39 of the Annual Catalog.   Just go to my Stampin' Up! website and click the products tab.  Karie Website

Where’s Karie Been?

You may have noticed that I have not posted here in many days.  Well, it’s not because I don’t like to stamp LOL.  But it was because I did get a bit bogged down with added hours at my ‘other’ job, a few house repair issues, running my Stampin' Up! business, and keeping my blog up to date...and it  left me suddenly feeling like I needed to be Wonder-Woman.  Naturally, because I knew I would not look good in her costume, it caused me a little stress…to say the least!

I turned to prayer and found all that I needed was to simply take a break.  I couldn’t take time off from my ‘other’ job, but I could take a break from all the other “To Do” list items in my life…so I did!  I have to tell you that it felt wonderful.  I just enjoyed the days and spent much more time sitting and talking with my sweet husband.  And then . . .
I had an Epiphany!

I needed to rearrange my priorities.  I want to continue to spend more time with my sweetheart and more time in my faith. This means that I will need to cut back in other areas of my life, i.e.; my business.  So, as much as I love to blog, I am no longer going to stress about having a post every single day.  I will post as much as I possible, but it will rarely be daily….I hope everyone is OK with that.  After all, how many of you feel that you have to read my post daily?   ….that’s what I thought.  LOL

Another thing I am going to do on my blog is to not freak out about using only 100% current Stampin’ Up! products.  I am too far behind on my personal scrapbooking and I have been holding on to some really awesome retired papers that I want to use in them.  Since I want to start scrappin’ more, as part of my new epiphany strategy,  I thought you might not mind if I use some retired stuff now and then.  After all it’s the ideas I am sharing more than anything else.  So...just as our Great Country celebrates it's independence...I am declaring my Independence from Stress!

I hope you are all fine with my new way of blogging and will continue to come back for ideas, videos, and Sunday inspirations.

Until Next Time…
