Window Box Thinlits

Here’s a fun project to dress your table, or fill with treats!

I love the Window Box Thinlits just as they are…but I always like to add a bit to a project if I can.  This time it was a simple flower on each of the boxes.  Here’s how to make them.

Start by cutting TWO of the main Window Box shapes, include ‘window’ designs, or Textured Impressions Embossing Folder designs, if desired. Trim off two of the ends tabs on the long ends then attach (see photo) adhering the ends together to create a circle and close one of the hexagon shapes to create the bottom of the box.  The other works as a hinged lid.

1)     Punch out 4 flower shapes using the Pansy Punch.
2)    Sponge the edges of each flower

3)    On the last two you may want to cut the petals a little deeper, just don’t get too deep.

4)   Curl the edges of three of the flowers, 2 cut one not, using a Bone Folder or your fingers.

5)    Adhere the uncut curled flower to the uncurled flower so that the petals are not exactly over each other.
6)   Adhere one of the deep cut flowers over the 1st curled flower, again shifting the petals so they do not line up.
7)    For the last flower you will want to snip one of the petals to the enter and adhere the petals so one is behind the other creating a slight cone shape (you do not need to do the full petal width).
8)   Give this last flower just a little more curl before attaching to other flowers.
9)   Add a pretty center with a punched shape (flower or circle works nice) and top with an embellishment such as White Perfect Accents.

10)  Adhere to the top of the Window Box!

Here are a few more photos of these projects.

Until Next Time,

Hugs, Karie B.
