Congratulations
Some Sale-a-bration items get
looked over by the ooohs and aaahs of the stamp sets. It’s understandable, there are some great option
this year. However, having premade card
bases and matching envelopes saves time and sparks creativity. That’s why I am featuring the Tutti-Fruti
Cards & Envelopes. There are 4
patterns each with matching envelopes. Today
I am using Calypso Coral.
The Painted With Love Specialty
Designer Series Paper (S-DSP) works perfectly with this card color because it
shares the same light and dark versions of Calypso Coral that appear on the
card and envelope. I cut the S-DSP to 3
7/8” x 5 1/8” then matted it with Gold Foil paper cut to 4” x 5 1/4”. By cutting them so close in size it gives a
tighter mat and a different feel to the card. Before matting the two pieces I
colored the gold Metallic-Edge ribbon (see video) and adhered it just to the
S-DSP before matting with the Gold Foil paper.
The sentiment is from Amazing
Congratulations stamp set. In the video I explain how I used a Blender Pen to
get the two shades of Calypso Coral. I also sponged the Whisper White card
stock with Calypso Coral ink after I completed the sentiments. The Gold Metallic Thread is adhered behind
the sentiment piece, not onto the card base, because I used Foam Adhesive
Strips to lift it off the base and wanted the thread to be more prominent. Lastly, I added the 3 stars over the ribbon
because I felt it need just a bit more bling.
Don't forget to add a little bling to your envelope by embossing a design on the flap or in a line on one side like I did.
Come back on Monday for a little
Birthday Witt.
Until Next time . . .
Hugs, Karie B.
