Paper Pumpkin Alternative -08/2017

Paper Pumpkin Alternative
Giftable Greetings   (August 2017)

I am excited to finally share my alternative ideas for the August Kit.  I don’t always get my kits as early as others.
This post has a LOT of samples so hang on . . . here we go!

Above are photos of what the suggested cards look like, the stamp set, supplies included this month (including the cute Designer Card Box!), and note that the directions included a ruler on the back to help cut the ribbon & Bakers Twine.

 Alternative #1
I liked that the base had a nice start of an oval ‘wreath’ look so I wanted to complete that.  1st step was to use the negative leftover after pushing out the precut oval pieces to lightly draw a pencil mark to help me stamp the ‘stick’ image before adding my sentiment.  I also used Liquid Multipurpose Glue to adhere Dazzling Diamonds to the edge of the oval as well as in the petals of the blue flowers (I did stamp those lines with stamp provided in the kit). I added Rhinestone Basics in the center of the flowers.
 Alternative #2
I liked the 1st design so I thought I would try to duplicate it with something else.  I cut one (+ a bit of another) of the Gold Foil Snowflakes from the Holiday Catalog (available on September 1st). I added Rhinestone Basics again.
 Not So Negative Pieces
I always look at those negatives left over from the any push-out pieces.  The above really intrigued me so here’s some ideas using it!
Alternative #3
I used a Sponge Dauber to ink through the flower ‘holes’ using Night of Navy and Calypso Coral Classic Ink Pads.  Then I added the center stamens using VersaMark ink so I could add Silver Embossing Powder and, using the Heat Tool, add more dimension.  I stamped the sentiment on one of the blank ovals, sponged the edges and also used the back (white) side of one of the push out flowers and stamped the petals in Night of Navy and adding the flowers & leaves that came with the kit.
Alternative #4
First I embossed one of the card pieces using the Petal Burst Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. Then used the push out negative to help me place the flowers that came with the kit alternating which ones were adhered with the (included) Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals. I turned one over and stamped a Miss You from the “Missing You” stamp out of the Thoughtful Banners stamp set. You can use a Stampin’ Write Marker to do this or cover portions with cello-tape like I did.  The stripe at the bottom was cut from one of the included envelopes.
Alternative #5
Finally, I trimmed down the push out negative and adhered it to Powder Pink card stock (the back is the messy inked up side from the previous photo).  Then added a sentiment and adhere to Night of Nave card stock.
Alternative #6
This one is my favorite.  I don’t know why because it is pretty basic.  I just think it’s cheerful.  The sentiment is from the Happy Birthday Gorgeous stamp set.
Alternative #7
A pretty simple design but I just had to use one of the tags from the kit right?  The love you was “I Love You” also from Happy Birthday Gorgeous (Wow!  Have you noticed how often I am using that stamp set?  I did not expect to LOVE it so much!!)
Alternative #8
A quick change from one of the suggested cards.  This was my first alternative, I always take a slow turn from the Stampin’ Up! ideas when I first get going.
