A Happy Accident

One more Envelope

Yesterday's post showed the "Mom" envelope.  What you don't know is that I started out thinking I would make it with the Attic Boutique DSP.  When I cut it out I had planned to use the Pool Party color side of the paper...but look what happened when I made the envelope the other way...

Front                                    Back

Now you see why I said this was a 'happy accident'!  I fell in love with the envelope and knew I had to create a card to go with it.  Here's my card:

These accidental wonderful outcomes are what makes paper crafting such a fun hobby!  Here are a few final photos for you today...

See you tomorrow . . .

Time to Step Up!

When simple
isn't enough....

A simple card is often the preferred method.  After all, simple can be classy.  It is also..well, simple!  Here's the simple version
Just three little butterflies added to a simple card front.  OK, I did shape the wings with my fingers, but it's still simple ....maybe TOO SIMPLE.  Here's the stepped up version....

As you can see the card isn't terribly different.  However, the butterflies have taken flight!  I added Baker's Twine for the body & antenna.  Each one has added flower(s) and Basic Rhinestones.  But the middle one has a cover over the butterfly base made from Vellum that's been covered with Shimmer Paint (Champagne Mist).

Take a moment to look at that simple card you created the other day.  Try doing the 'Step Up' and add that little touch to make it soar!  Give it a try!

Be sure to come back tomorrow to watch my video on the new Petite Purse die available in just a few days!  Plus...did I loose weight?? Come back to find out!
