Sweet Cupcake - Retiring Products Blog Hop

Welcome back to Theme Week!
Retiring Products
… with a bonus hop!

This week I have been sharing some of the wonderful products that we will be saying goodbye to at the end of May.

Today is a bonus day for Theme week because I am part of a Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator Hop.  Each of us will be sharing ideas for some of our favorite stamp sets and bundles.   Remember to hop through the list until you end up back here again, that way you can be sure you don’t miss anything.

The Sweet Cupcake stamp set and matching Cupcake Cutout Framelits are very versatile.  The words in the Framelits set are some of my favorites, although not used in any of today’s projects, I did use the ‘loop scallop’ die for the background on this first card sample.  I cut the design out 5 times and then adhere it to the same color (Crumb Cake) card base to create the background.  The cupcake base, top, and candle were also cut with the Framelits after stamping them. The base and candle are stamped in Mint Macaron (a returning color!), the top is Chocolate Chip (a retiring color) and Crumb Cake inks.  The candle ‘smoke’ is stamped in Chocolate Chip as is the sentiment.

Above is a sample of the same card but a simpler version in the same colors.  The card base was embossed with a previously retired Textured Impression Embossing Folder, however, there are several current folders that would work great too!

This card uses the Picture Perfect Birthday Designer Series Paper Stack (6” x 6”) for the background image.  The sentiment is stamped onto Lemon Lime Twist ribbon using Memento ink. The cupcake base is stamped in Crushed Curry, the cupcake top is in Sweet Sugarplum, and the candle in Tempting Turquoise.

Until Next time . . .

C.A.S.E. IT

C.A.S.E. = Copy And Stamp Everything

I admit it, I copy ideas from other people.  Isn't that why we follow blogs and spend time on Pinterest?  Sure it is!  As crafters we love to share our projects and we always hope someone will want to make it themselves.  That's part of the Fun!

Today :I copied directly from the Stampin' Up! Annual Catalog, page 23, that uses the Sweet Cupcake stamp set and matching Cupcake Cutouts Framelits Dies, page 192. You can save 10% when you buy the bundle, which will not be an option after the current catalog ends on May 31, 2017.

C.A.S.E.-ing is perfectly acceptable and you will be surprised how it sparks new ideas on different ways to tweak the project and make it your own.  I did that with the card in the 2nd photo below.

The background on this card is actually pieces that are cut using the matching Thinlit dies.  They look awesome, but I would put this one as an intermediate to advanced crafter level..  Also, each piece of the cupcake is die-cut too.

Above is basically thee same card, but it's fast and there is nothing
die-cut, although the background does use the Confetti Textured Impressions Embossing Folder, page 195.

So go ahead....C.A.S.E. IT!

Karie Beglau
