Animal Expedition - ICS Blog Hop

Another Fun Blog Hop with the Inspire, Create, & Share group.  We moved out hop from the 1st Wednesday to the 1st Saturday for just this month because of the 4th of July Holiday. With the amazing Buy 3 get 1 Free - Designer Series Paper (DSP) promotion, we will be sharing ideas using different papers with you today. 

My project uses the Animal Expedition DSP.  While you can stamp these adorable animals, did you know you can actually cut them out of the DSP using the Animal Friends Thinlits Diets?  While some of the images are not the right size on every sheet, some are.  So, how did I cut them out in two different directions without fussy cutting them? 

Place the DSP on top of the Stampin' Pierce Pat, then placed the thinlit die upside down (cutting side up) over the reverse image.   Using the Paper-piercing Tool poke holes in strategic places around the outside of the die.  Once finished, turn the DSP over and line up the die (cutting side down) and cut by running through the Big Shot Machine.

I used the same DSP for the background and Animal Outing stamp set for sentiment, which I cut out using the Stitched Shapes Framelits and the matted piece behind that was cut using the Layering Circles Framelits.

Stationary Box - Paper Crafting Blog Hop

 

It's time for another hop with the Global Stamping Friends group.  Today we are featuring home decor' items.  I think you enjoy some great ideas today!  I will be sharing how I made this stationary box.

I like to recycle and reuse items that might otherwise be tossed out.  The Paper Pumpkin box is perfect for a reuse items.  In order to help the Designer Series Paper (DSP) adhere I peeled off the top layer of the box.  It is pretty easy to do if you take your time and peel slowly.

Then I marked where I wanted to add divides to hold pens, stamps, and my address stamp & Stampin' Spot ink.  I created the divider pieces from another Paper Pumpkin box.

Once I had determined the layout it was time to cover the box.  I used the
Share What You Love DSP.  I coated the box with Multipurpose Liquid Glue then used my bone folder to press the DSP firmly into place.  Using a craft knife I trimmed away any excess DSP.

I created the cover by taking inspiration from the design of the box from the Share What You Love Embellishment Kit.  I used the Celebrate You Thinlits, the Layering Ovals Framelits, and cut pieces from the Delightfully Detailed Specialty Paper.

The inside divides are a personal preference, however, my pieces are all 1 1/4" high.  The two long pieces were cut 7 1/2" long scored at 1/4" on each end.  the short divide is 3" scored 1/4" on each end.  These pieces are covered with the same design as the outside of the box, while the base is covered with another.  I thought the word paper was perfect for the inside of the box.

Fill the box with card made from the same DSP, add envelopes, Journaling Pens, a personalized stamp (or print some address labels) and include some postage - it would be a great gift idea for anyone....including YOU!
