Here’s a fun technique for you to
try, I call it Pixel Coloring. To start
you will need to use card stock with a grid design. For my projects I found a
variety of options in the Memories & More Perfect Day Kit. However, there are other kits in the Stampin’
Up! line that have grid lines as well.
Once you’ve found your grid
design choose a stamp that has more outline than solid in the design. I chose the Jar of Love stamp, with
Sheltering Tree and Perennial Birthday for the different sentiments.
This video will show the basic steps
on how I created these cards.
When I completed my original design,
I inked the entire pixel piece with VersaMark ink then embossed using Clear
Embossing Powder. This created a glassy
effect over the design and the colors became richer and darker.
For the video card, I wanted a
softer feel and did not emboss over the design.
I like that just a small change can make such a difference in the final project.
Hugs, Karie B.
