There has been a lot of chatter
about the New Stampin’ Up! Color Revamp.
Today I will post photos of the retiring and new colors at the bottom of
this post for you. However, today, I want
to write about the new style of our ink pads.
I have always loved our ink pad style so, at first, the change made me
nervous. However, Stampin’ Up! explained their reasons for the change and,
after using them for a week now, I am pretty excited about the new style. I did share information in the below video
and will post more written information below that.
Why did Stampin’ Up! change the case?
The manufacturing mold was to
expire. Molds can only be used a limited
number of times before they need to be replaced (who knew?!). Because they are expensive to make, SU thought
it was a good time update the case with the Color revamp and make some
improvements to the design, and the ink!
What’s better about the case?
Using research, focus groups, and
the L2L group (Leader to Leader), SU discovered a few things that could improve
the design. They wanted the new cases to
be:
Less confusing to open – Thumb tab, no more press &
pop to open.
Have a tighter fit between the
lid and the base – the
new design keeps the lid from accidently becoming disconnected.
Be Stackable – the bottom of the case has a ‘nub’
in each corner that fits nicely into the ‘dimple’ on the top of another case.
Include improved labels and sticker - Redesigned front label with a cleaner, bolder design and larger
color swatch.
Providing a new color sticker to place
on the inside of the pad.
on the inside of the pad.
Is the ink different?
Yes, the ink has been improved by
adding a defoamer to the formula. The defoamer
will reduce ink bubbles, help get an even coating of ink on the stamp, help the
image have a smoother, sold look.
Another change is that the Archival
Ink will no longer be a part of the Stampin’ Up! ink offering. Basic Gray will now be offered as Classic Ink
and there will be two options for black, the Tuxedo Black Memento Pad and the
Jet Black StāzOn Pad.
Will the updated Classic Stampin’ Pad case fit in
the Color Caddy? Yes!
Although the Color Caddy is being retired. Stampin’ Up! is working on a new storage
option and as soon as they have it available I will share it with all of you.
