Today the Stampers By The Dozen Blog Hop Theme is a Card Do-over. Let’s face it, in life
we all would like the chance for a Do-over sometimes, right? The idea of this theme is to recreate, or
update, a card we have previously made.
I tried to find a photo of my very first ever stamped card (it was a sad
little thing) but I could not locate it.
However, I did find one I created several years ago that I have always
liked and decided it would be a good to update.
My Original Card
Pretty much everything (except for the Real Red and
Very Vanilla card stock) is now retired. I can’t even tell you the name of the stamp
set, Designer Series Paper (DSP), or other blue card stock color anymore. The brown matting is Chocolate Chip, a
recently retired color.
Original Card Dimensions:
Base Card: 8.5” x 5.5” (folded to
4.25” x 5.5”)
Center Image: 2.75” x 2.75”
Center Matting: 3” x 3”
4 DSP Squares: 1.75” x 1.75”
4 Squares Matting: 1 7/8” x 1 7/8”
Large Base Matting: 4” x 4”
Small Circle: ½”
Small Circle Matting: ¾”

For my Do-over I wanted to use one of the two different
frame-style pieces from the Petal Promenade DSP. I am loving these little pieces and the long strip of flowers (or greenery) are great for scrapbooking too!
My Do-over Card
Because the DSP piece is larger than the center design
of the original I decided to use long thing strips from another sheet of the Petal Promenade DSP
rather than squares. I also added
Stampin’ Dimensionals to the center image.
The Stamped sentiment is from the Beautiful Promenade stamp set, inked in Mossy Meadow.

There are so many wonderful ideas shared in the
paper-crafting world that we can use to spur our creativity and even copy
exactly. However, I really enjoyed this
challenge because it is a good reminder that we should consider CASE-ing from ourselves
too! Let that old card get a second life
– give it a Do-over!
