Demonstrator SWAP
Yesterday I flew to Salt Lake
City, Utah, to join with a few thousand of my Stampin’ Up! demonstrator
friends for our OnStage (convention) Event.
Today I will again take tour the Home Office to see what different ideas they have on display.
Pictures and information will be on my Facebook page daily during my trip, however, I will create a post when I return
home.
Demonstrators love to trade ideas
with each other, we call this Swappin’.
We make the same card many times (any number goes – I usually create 50
to 100…this year, 60). Then trade for
other’s ideas we can bring home to use, or recreate/inspire, class ideas. Here’s my Swap card:
I used the Falling Flowers stamp set which has mostly individual images. The trick with this card to mask
some of the stamped images before stamping the next one. This is how the main Pumpkin Pie flower looks
like it is in front of the other flowers and leaves. I also had to mask the single leaf, the other flowers and even parts of the long branch of leaves (on the left).
Each mask is created by stamping the image to be covered onto a sticky note so that when you cut it out it will temporarily adhere over the image, see below.

After all of the masking was
completed I started to color in the flowers.
I used our New Amazing Stampin’ Blends!
I can’t stop playing with them!
For the swirly vine I wasn’t
worried about perfection, not that I worry about that normally, I like the
watercolor effect it had just adding some of the Old Olive Light Blends.
Below is a photo of the same card, but I changed the colors (sometimes people like options when we swap). The colors used are: Rich Razzleberry & Pink Pirouette, Bermuda Bay & Pool Party, Night of Navy & Pool Party, and Calypso Coral & Daffodil Delight. Which one is your favorite?
Come back on Saturday to see the “Fancy Fold Swap” card I created for a special dinner with some of my Blog Hopper friends.
