ICS Blog Hop-OnStage Fun Folds

ICS Blogger SWAP
ICYMI In Case You Missed It

I know I recently posted this exact post.  However, at our SWAP during the Stampin' Up! OnStage event it was suggested we do a hop with all of the items we made so all of you could see each one.  So, while this is a repeat of sorts, you can now click the link below my post and hop through all of the Amazing Projects we shared together at our special dinner while we attended Stampin' Up! OnStage Live .

Our SWAP Theme was Fancy Folds.  The card will fold to fit in our standard card envelopes and are easy for the recipient to open and display.

I don't think the photos capture the sparkle of the heart, I wish you could see it in person.  Here's a close up that might help.

Close Up

Cut one piece of card stock 4.25” x 11” and score at 5.5”, 7”, 9”, and 10.5”.  Cut a coordinating piece of card stock to 3” x 5.5” and score at 3.5”, and 5”.  The smaller piece I embossed by running through the Big Shot using the Garden Trellis T.I.E.F.  The Fresh Florals Designer Series Paper (DSP) is cut at 4” x 5.25” (back panel) and 1.75” x 4” (front panel).

Measurements not to scale in photo

The heart was cut from Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper using the Bloomin’ Heart Thinlits.  The word ‘love’ is from the Sunshine Wishes Thinlits out of Lemon Lime Twist card stock.  My suggestion for cutting out the heart is to run it back and forth through the Big Shot at least 3 to 4 times as the Glimmer Paper is very thick and the die is very intricate, It is important to cut any of our Glimmer Paper from the back side, not the glitter side for best results. The design will fall out of the die if you use the Big Shot Brush, or you could poke it out with the Paper Piercing Tool.

Hearts with and without Stampin' Blends

Afterwards I used the Stampin’ Blends (yep…gotta love ‘em) to color the Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper.  I love the way the color is still glittery and really pulled out the different flowers within the heart design.

Once you have adhered the pieces of DSP to the card to base, use a bone folder to  to crease the score lines and adhere as shown using Tear & Tape.  Then add the embossed piece of coordinating card stock, also with Tear & Tape.  Usually for an intricate die cut I would have suggested that you first adhere any card stock to a piece of Multipurpose Adhesive Sheet before cutting the shape.  However, because the heart is not adhered to anything in some places, I suggest for this design using either Glue Dots or small pieces of Tear & Tape added to the large areas or squeeze some Liquid Multipurpose Glue onto a corner of the Silicone Sheet then place the heart, glitter side down on them mat.  Then use a Sponge Dauber to careful add adhesive to the all of the heart except for those areas that will overhang.

I hope you enjoyed this ‘Fancy Fold’.  Click through using the button below to see the other swaps ideas that I received.  You're going to love them!
Until Next time . . .
