Delightful Daisy - Color Challenge GSF Blog Hop 09-01-2017

and Crafting Forever

I had so much fun using the colors in the challenge.  Sometimes having someone else push you out of your preset boundaries can get the creative juices flowing.

Watercolor Wings

My 1st card using all four of the challenge colors.  The base is Night of Navy card stock, with Smoky Slate on top.  Then I stamped the sentiment onto Whisper White using Night of Navy ink.  The beautiful butterfly from Watercolor Wings is created with 3-step stamping. 1st I stamped the center section of the wings in Night of Navy ink, 2nd I stamped the outer edge of the wings in Night of Navy ink (2nd generation), 3rd I stamped the full wings image in Pool Party (also 2nd generation).  The body & antenna are in Smoky Slate ink.  I tied a bow with the new ½” Gingham Ribbon (Night of Navy).  FYI - This card was NOT my first attempt at the challenge. My first attempts are below.

Thank You

This card is EZ-PZ.  The card stock base is Pool Party with Smoky Slate over that with a 1” strip of Delightful Daisy Designer Series Paper (DSP).   The sentiment is stamped in Smoky Slate ink with the flowers in Pool Party ink.  TIP: Stamp the flowers below the center of the sentiment first then add more  flowers to each side.

Creative

This was a fun one!  Everyone loves to color and using our Watercolor Pencils makes it look so seamless - at least after you go over the colors with a Blender Pen.  For the darker Night of Navy I used the Blender Pen to pick up ink from the Classic Ink Pad lid (the squeeze method).  The background images were stamped onto the Pool Party card stock in the Pool Party ink.

Delightful Daisy

Of all the designs, I think this is my favorite, although that surprises me.  The base is Thick Whisper White card stock (LOVE thick cs) with a pretty piece from the Delightful Daisy DSP. The sentiment is from the Watercolor Wings stamp set.  The Daisy is from the Daisy Delight stamp set.  To get the look I inked the image in Smoky Slate, then using a Stampin’ Sponge I sponged some Night of Navy ink in the center of the stamp image and stamped it onto Whisper White card stock.  I added the center using So Saffron (sold center) and Crushed Curry (detailed center). It still didn’t look quick the way I wanted to I cut a ‘sloppy’ circle from a Post-it Note to cover the center of the flower and added a little more sponging. I like the way it slightly covered some of the center.  Finally, I used the Daisy Punch to cut out the flower.

I hope you enjoyed my projects, let see what the next hopper is up to . . .
