Welcome to Theme Week Designer Series Paper (DSP)
Monday 3/12
– Saturday 3/17
I am hope you are enjoying the
Theme Weeks I have been doing for the last few months. I am having fun creating new ideas
for you. I picked DSP this time because
I know there are so many things we can do with it. From a basic background on a card, to
creating dimensions by cutting-crinkling-folding-and embossing. I will show each of these ideas this week.
Today’s project using ¾” strips
of DSP to create a background for a card.
To create this background, I
started with Thick Whisper White card stock (cs) and added a layer of Petal
Passion DSP to the base. Then I cut a 3 ¾”
x 5” piece of Whisper White cs and covered it with adhesive by using the Multi-Purpose
Adhesive Sheets. Once one side was
complete ‘sticky’ I began layering by starting with a diagonal line from corner
to corner. I continued to lay strips
over the Whisper White cs until it was completely covered.
Then, using Liquid Glue I add a
few stripes of Mini Sequin Trim to match.
Once all of the layering was completed I trimmed off the ‘tails’ by
flipping the Whisper White cs over so I could see the lines and trimmed with
Paper Snips. I found this works better,
especially on the sequin trim, than the Stampin’ Trimmer.
I then layered this onto Basic
Black cs and adhere to card front. The
sentiment was stamped onto Whisper White cs and also matted with Basic Black cs
and added to the front using Stampin’ Dimensionals.
I hope you will come back
tomorrow to see a fun crinkled distress idea.
Until Next time . . .
Hugs, Karie B.
