Welcome Back to Theme Week!
Designer Series Paper (DSP)
Monday 3/12
– Saturday 3/17
I am hope you are enjoying the
Theme Weeks I have been doing for the last few months. I really enjoy enjoying creating new ideas
for you. I picked DSP this time because
I know there are so many things we can do with it. From a basic background on a card, to
creating dimensions by cutting-crinkling-folding-and embossing. I will show each of these ideas this week.
I wish I knew who it was who came
up with the ruffled idea. I just love it,
I hope you will too. One thing I have found is that the 2-tone design can be more or less depending on how you angle your
cut. I cut this one at a low angle, from (1" to 3") which
gave a more subtle ‘peek-though’ on the back of the ruffle (on the sample it is the
white/polka dot side). I used a ¼” strip
of Old Olive card stock (cs) at the top of the ruffle rather than ribbon,
although ribbon works great as well.
The
floral arrangement is from the Sweet Soirée Embellishment Kit, some of it is
adhered flat with SNAIL Adhesive and some is adhered to the back of the color
flowers base then all of that is adhered with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The sentiment was stamped in Marina Mist ink
and is from the Cake Soirée stamp set.
For my card I cut the Sweet Soirée
Specialty Designer Series Paper (S-DSP) to 8.75” x 3” cutting the angle so the
short end was 1”. Scoring the S-DSP at
1.25”, 2”, 3.75”, 4.5”, 6.25”, and 7” to create the folds. This size creates a 3.75” width. TIP:
If this is your first attempt I suggest you cut the paper a little
longer so that you can trim off any extra and make it fit your card stock (cs).
Don’t forget to dress up the
inside of the card too!
I hope you will come back
tomorrow. I will be sharing another technique.
Until Next time . . .
Hugs, Karie B.
