Here we are, the last SBTD blog
hop of 2018. This month it was my turn
to pick the theme and with the holidays so close it’s a bit late for any of
your to use projects on that theme.
Therefore, I asked everyone to create non-holiday projects that reflect
the season where they live. It’s winter
here, but we have west-coasters, and members from other countries so you are in
for a treat!
Subtle Winter Wishes
This card uses the Dashing Deer
and Lovely As A Tree stamp sets and the Detailed Deer Thinlits Dies. I
wanted a snow scene without the obvious snowflakes. I also wanted a generic card, therefore, I choose to create a monochromatic card to keep it simple. The colors I used are Balmy Blue, and Whisper
White.
The background trees from Lovely As
A Tree were stamped twice to get them across the full card. To get the trees to line up I temporarily adhered
the smaller piece (4.25” x 3”) of Whisper White card stock to the larger one (5.25”
x 4”) and stamped the trees.
When you do this, you get an edge
where the images do not stamp completely. Don’t worry about that, when you adhere
the smaller piece to the coordinating mat of Balmy Blue card stock it will
cover it up and nobody will know.
Each of the deer were stamped separately
then cut out using the Big Shot Machine and the Thinlits dies. The small deer are stamped in 2nd
Generation (this is when you ink, stamp off on a scrap paper, then onto your
project) and are adhered directly to the card front, while the large deer is
adhered with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
A light touch of Dazzling
Diamonds was added to make the snow sparkle.
This card can be repeated in a variety
of colors, here’s another example of the card in Crumb Cake and Sahara Sand.
